Dear Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo, could you please explain what WTF means to my 7 year old cats? Everytime I click a link on your new site that used to be Flickr, I exclaim loudy, WTF? And of course like any 7 year old who hear a word a thousand times, they are repeating constantly what their Daddy said. So, I would personally like to thank you for turning my cats into Potty Mouths.

I was totally stumped on today’s challenge of Unusual. I couldn’t find ONE thing unusual to shoot. Finally, I put on my Luigi’s Flying Tires Thinking Cap and went through some of the boxes that were still packed from the move. Nothing. Then I asked the cat if he had any ideas what to shoot for today’s challenge. He just reached back, scratched his rear, belched and stared at me blankly (yes, he takes after his daddy). I can’t come up with a thing.

After driving around the parking lot of our local mall for what seemed like hours trying to find a parking space that didn’t say “compact”, we finally got some help from this card board cut out of some dude to help us park our A-6 Intruder. The things I will do just to buy new underwear.

Yo Taxi!

In order to change the oil on the TA-4 Skyhawk the jet has to warm it’s engines up to a certain degree, so Wheels here has to rent out a runway at the Palm Springs International Airport to taxi up and down on. We were lucky enough to get to watch up close. All went good until I dropped some of my peanuts I was eating and Wheels started the engine on the Skyhawk. Just before my nuts hit the ground (i know what it sounds like, stop snickering) a big blast of hot air came and blasted them 3 miles down the runway! Hungry, and now that my nuts where dry roasted (grow up!) I of course wanted them back. I waved to the pilot, Wheels, and yelled YO TAXI! I need a ride down to Second and Fifth (second lane, fifth bush). He yelled back, hop on the bumper!

We decided to drive the Pines To Palm Highway today. This is the Coachella Valley Vista Point looking down on the Coachella Valley. It’s either the gateway to the Coachella Valley or the gateway to Santa Rosa Mountains. I guess it depends on which way you are going. Either way, I did not push him down the mountain. I am so proud of myself sometimes.

Would you believe this Grumman F-14 Tomcat kept buzzing my head outside of the Palm Springs Air Museum? The pilot kept trying to “High Five” me every time he flew by. Finally, I had to crawl my way to the entrance of the museum.

I recently found this A-4 Skyhawk at the Palm Springs Air Museum with Ana … Alien Probe attached. The A-4 would swoop out of the blue, knock the alien face down to the ground, then dive bomb it and … er … check it’s temperature. So now you know, aliens exist.

Meet Miss Angela

I had the chance to sit down with Miss Angela at the Palm Springs Air Museum for a one on one interview. I must of asked her a million questions but she just kept staring at me. After about an hour, I gave up and left. I think she was just shell shocked by my masculine beauty and it left her speechless.

Miss Angela is B-17 Flying Fortress Bomber and she looks darn good for an old lady.

You Mean They’re Real?

The Palm Springs Air Museum has one of the World’s largest collection of flyable WWII aircraft. Naturally I had to test one out.

Not sure if they were mad at me for flying one or if they just didn’t like me doing it in the hanger. Either way, it was all cool until some dude got in some attack plane and shot me down over the waters of Mural Town here.

10 minutes from my home is the Palm Springs Air Museum and we didn’t have to speed to make it in 10 minutes either, nope, uh uh, no way José, not us and I most certainly did NOT yell at the top of my lungs STEP ON THE SKINNY PEDAL, WE ONLY HAVE TWO MORE MINUTES TO GET THERE IN THE TIME FRAME!

Anyway, it’s literally straight down the street and we’ve been wanting to stop by since it was so close and decided today we would. What a cool and awesome Museum. The people there are fantastic! We also lucked out and met this guy named Wheels. I believe he has restored this TA-4 Skyhawk (do not kill me if I got that wrong, I have the memory of a knat) It flies too, but today I think they had to change the oil or something. He had to taxi it down the runaway of the Palm Springs International Airport and he took his son with him, that’s the cool and righteous dude in the co-pilot seat.

Anyway, if you are in the Palm Springs area and you get the chance to stop, do so, it’s a great place and the people there are the best.

FINE! It took 11 minutes to get there! We hit a red light! So close, we were so close.

Today’s challenge is A WAY OUT. I find it ironic that this is the challenge for today, since I spent most of my morning thinking I really screwed up my Flickr Home Page only to find out after an hour that Flickr decided to throw me into a test group with no notice, no warning and no way to get out of it. I didn’t find that out until I decided to go to the Help Forum to find someone to help me put it back. Low and behold, a thin yellow banner across the top tells me CONGRADULATIONS, I’m part of a TEST BUCKET and PLEASE CLICK HERE to leave feed back. (Yes, I left feed back, I wrote “I compare it to what my cat just did in the litter box”). I also told them they were rude and unprofessional. How are they going to get feedback, they didn’t tell anyone what they were doing or where to go.

To throw someone into a TEST GROUP, not tell them, don’t give them ANY instructions and don’t give them a way to opt out is stupid.

The new HOME PAGE by the way is a direct rip off of TUMBLR except the photos’ are half obscured by comments. So every time someone comments on a photo that I commented on or faved, it pops up as a HUGE half obscured photo on my HOME PAGE. So I have one unending column of photos that I have already commented on.

PS. I really wouldn’t get this mad (and I am actually quite furious) if it was some two bit web site. But I love Flickr and apparently NO ONE is monitoring the Help Forums feed back because my comment about the cat box is quite frankly, one of the nicer ones and the moderator has made one inane response and left the rest of us hanging.
